before the realm was reborn

   MANY, MANY YEARS AGO.
On the Thirteenth Reflection, a star that was once as full of color and life as the Source, there existed the scholarly city of Mysidia. One of the city's most promising student mages was Cuore, whose skills lied in potioncraft and alchemy.
When the Contramemoria sent the world spiraling into war, Cuore's dreams of scientific progress were swiftly halted, and he enlisted as a field medic. And, just his luck, a grievous injury in battle left him paralyzed. Inadequate medical attention caused his condition to worsen, and as he felt his life escape him... the world succumbed to darkness.Because of his unique condition -- an immortal voidsent, yet frozen on the brink of death -- Cuore was not free to travel the land in search of aether. Hungry or not, he was unable to rise from his deathbed. Trapped, weak, and furious, all Cuore could do was watch how the walls of his room crumbled around him.

   A DARK OPPORTUNITY.
12,000 years later, sisters D'vheeza and D'zentsa Dhavha were abandoned by their parents. D'vheeza, who idolized the elder thaumaturges of her village, had an idea -- and it would not involve her younger sister. No, what she needed was a family she could control.
D'vheeza's travels brought her to Ul'dah, where she joined both the Thaumaturge's Guild and the nearby Condor village, becoming T'vheeza. She soon joined the harem of the laissez-faire womanizer T'morh Nunh. Of course, she did not do so out of affection for him, nor for a desire to improve the village.T'vheeza's plan was simple. T'morh, in her eyes, was stupid enough to not notice any of her taboo experiments as a Black Mage. T'morh was also quite a distant father to his other children... so if something strange were to come over one of them, and they started acting a little bit differently, he might not notice that either.

   WHERE WE BEGIN.
T'morh and T'vheeza welcomed their son, T'saya Tia. T'morh was quite happy, as the village's last boy was born four years prior. T'vheeza, meanwhile, was less than thrilled -- in her eyes, Black Magic was a female Seeker practice. But, the show must go on, and the second act was about to begin.
One night, nine-year-old T'oufu Tia stumbled into a scene he couldn't possibly understand. T'vheeza was summoning a voidsent, and using her five-year-old son -- T'oufu's frail, neglected little brother -- to contain it. The voidsent was Cuore, who T'vheeza chose because his great anger appeared as great power. But he was as weak as T'saya, and the lack of change in her son made her deem the experiment a failure.Cuore, who could see through T'saya's eyes, turned his hatred from himself to T'vheeza. He vowed to never harm the boy whose mind became his new prison, despite his own body begging to take T'saya's aether.

   THE FINAL NAIL.
T'saya was thirteen when T'oufu told him -- along with their sister T'zunmyb -- what he saw. They decided it was best to keep quiet.
Despite this, it was only two years before T'vheeza was expelled from the village... not because she tried to possess her own son, but because she had an affair with the village's meek and awkward conjurer, T'khiyo Tia. Worst of all, he had gotten her pregnant. The trio begged T'morh to let her stay, but his ego was damaged beyond repair. T'saya now was the sole target of rumors concerning the one who was not only too busy casting curses to extend a hand to her neighbors, but also had now challenged the village's status quo. Not to mention, he feared what would happen to his unborn half-sibling.T'saya could bear the gossip no longer. His innate dark-aspected aether (thanks to Cuore) led him to the Thaumaturge's Guild, towards the path of adventure.

   HIS ECHO BEFORE THE ECHO.
Ul'dah was home to some of T'saya's favorite places -- the weaver's guild, Platinum Mirage, and the Quicksands. (He liked them partly for their intended purposes, and partly because they were often visited by handsome bachelors.)
Between studying thaumaturgy, learning Eorzean (as it was spoken rarely at his village), and making a name for himself in the world of clothcraft, the next ten years of T'saya's life were quite busy. His best friends T'oufu and T'zunmyb each had their own goals to work towards, too: T'oufu wanted to surpass his father and become a Nunh worth his title, and T'zunmyb wanted to be elected as a true leader, a position the Condor village had not known for generations. At twenty-five years old, T'saya Tia decided it was time. When he said his goodbyes, the only requests of his two best friends were that he not only stay safe, but that they could recognize him when he returned. Of course, none of them had any idea of the validity of both of those concerns.

PERSONALITY .
To strangers especially, T'saya will adopt a manufactured "hero" personality. He's charming, polite, and wants nothing more than to help out any way he can. However, among friends, his princely charm is matched by his snarky sense of humor and total lack of personal space. At his best, T'saya Tia acts like a charitable, well-mannered noble. At his worst, he's excessively self-confident, easily angered, and will quickly turn another's burden into his own violent grudge.

   NPC: g'raha tia

The beginnings of a romantic bond between T'saya and G'raha quickly sprouted throughout their adventures with NOAH, but were cut short just as fast. One had more time to pine than the other, of course, but T'saya still associated his lost companion with the freedom he enjoyed just prior to the Bloody Banquet. After confessing their mutual feelings after the Exarch revealed himself, their relationship began in earnest. Though things are still non-exclusive (neither can deny that an adventurer is prone to wander), G'raha Tia still remains the first one T'saya would call upon to accompany him, in any situation.

   NPC: x'rhun tia

Despite the fact that X'rhun has long since stopped calling himself T'saya's mentor -- since his student's skills in Red Magic surpassed his own ages ago -- T'saya can never forget the impact X'rhun has had in his life. Learning the way of the Red Mage has steered T'saya from darkness on more than one occasion, and he attributes this to the companionship he had with X'rhun Tia and Arya Gastaurknan....Though, his and X'rhun's memories together are not exclusively "educational." But some things are better left between the involved parties.

   NPC: ardbert hylfyst

Although Ardbert's closest connection is to the voidsent Cuore, he remains a dear friend to T'saya. His presence in the First was a treasured comfort, as was T'saya and Cuore's presence for Ardbert. Ardbert's place in T'saya's subconscious is gone now, but ever since being bound to the Thirteenth, T'saya makes sure to visit often.T'saya finds his relationship with Ardbert hard to define in words. Not like brothers, not romantic in ways they'd acted upon, but they felt love for each other in a way that "friends" wouldn't nearly suffice.

Akagi Tatewaki

Sparrow's Harmony

Akagi crossed paths with T'saya in Limsa Lominsa, as a Doman refugee-turned-pirate who longed to discover more of Eorzea. Though they came from such different backgrounds, the two adventurers became close friends. Together, they saw each other grow in maturity and confidence.

Mylene Ymir

Otherworld Apothecary

Mylene, a Dalmascan traveller, became a dear friend of T'saya while studying conjury in Gridania. Her adventures alongside him led her to Ishgard, a place that would soon welcome her as warmly as its own citizens. T'saya hopes his travels lead him to visit her home as well.

Mihri Ninaka

of the Moonlit Hunt

Mihri may be only a distant relative of T'saya's, but he cares for her as if she was a sister. As adventurers, they travel independantly, yet often find their paths crossing over. He enjoys how their traditional upbringings from opposite clans usually steers their conversations towards enlightening cultural exchange.

Tori

Heritor of Dragons

Tori's story joined with T'saya's in Ishgard, where Tori was the driving force behind the city mending its connection with the dragons of Dravania. Now, Tori is a close friend and essential ally, and T'saya often calls on him when adventure leads him to challenge a powerful foe.
